Upstairs Arts Space

The Upstairs Arts Space is a gallery, performance venue, and meeting space dedicated to the visual and performing arts. Having supported emerging artists in Central Ohio since 2014, our visual arts mission is to promote work that is accessible to families, stimulates our students, and encourages people of all income levels to become patrons of the arts.

Approximately 6-8 times a year, we host a free, public event that pairs a local artist with a musical group/soloist for a reception and concert.   Our events operate on a donation-only basis, thus we do not charge a commission on artwork that is sold, and patrons directly support the artists.

Since opening our studio in 2013, our community has grown as featured artists and musicians often come back to attend future events –  inspiring new partnerships and collaborations. In between events, studio clients and visitors enjoy the art as it hangs in the studio for  4-6 weeks.  Most pieces are available for sale, and can be shown by appointment during non-teaching hours.

We welcome new artists to submit work for consideration.  Please email with several images of your pieces (with price ranges) and/or a link to your online portfolio if you would like to be featured at a future event.

Musicians – we invite soloists, duos, and trios to perform in our space.  We are keen to host art music, classical music, experimental, and performance art pieces. We have a studio grand piano that is well-maintained and available for use.  Pay is based on donations.  Please email with a sample recording and/or a link to your site.

Here’s what others have to say about their experience at our events:

“The Upstairs Arts Space was a wonderful place to showcase my work.  Annalisa and Chris were very supportive and welcoming. The open house was very well attended. Many people showed interest in my work and I sold several pieces.” — Mike Chambers

I have done two shows with Whitney & Ventola and both times I have had a fun time and sold art pieces. They are great to work with and very laid back. I would definitely do more shows with them in the future.  It has been a great partnership.” — Rebecca Slonaker

I had the fortune to have my first solo show at Whitney & Ventola and I hope all my future shows go as well. The music and singing was great, the snacks were tasty and the viewers of my exhibition were warm and engaging. To round out a great opening I sold several pieces. I count myself lucky for having my show with these guys.” — Adrian Sibley

My partner and I have exhibited at her studio as well as collaborated on a performance inside and outside the studio. Annalisa is a very professional and skilled artist, but also very sweet and fun. We had an amazing time working with her and creating beautiful things.” — Roman & Jennifer
