As you may know, we have a summer piano recital coming up. It is being held on Saturday, August 4th at Graves Piano & Organ Company at 5798 Karl Road. Doors open at 2pm. The recital will begin at 2:30pm, and it should end by 3:15pm. The theme is “Dance Music” and audience members will be treated to a selection of dance forms from all periods of music history including minuets, waltzs, mazurkas, tarantellas, and sarabandes. Following the student recital we will have a very special event. Recent high school graduate and piano student, Jamil Wilson, will be performing a solo recital and will bid us goodbye before continuing his musical studies at Cleveland State University. This recital will begin at 3:30pm and will last approximately 30 minutes. Jamil is preparing a program of Scarlatti, Chopin, Glass, and Kuroda as well as performing some of his original songs.
